Shimla

Known as the Queen of Hill Stations, Shimla became the summer capital of the British Raj during the latter half of the 19th century when the soldiers of the British army, merchants and civil servants moved up here to get relief from the scorching heat of the plains.

One of the most popular tourist destinations of India, Shimla is also the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. This hill station derives its name from "Goddess Shyamla", an avatar of Goddess Kali.

Manali

Manali is a part of Himachal Pradesh and situated above 1,926 Ms from the sea level. Being a beautiful hill station, it experiences millions of tourists throughout the year. It is said that Britishers always used to visit Manali to enjoy their summer.

Chandigarh

Chandigarh is a city of Charming Contrast; a pulsating modern town famous for its architecture and landscape. "Chandigarh" derives its name from the temple of "Chandi" located in the vicinity of the site selected for the city. The deity "Chandi", the goddess of power and a fort or "garh" lying beyond the temple gave the city its name.
